A few months ago our colleagues participated in an sale of IT items in order to collect money for the charity House of Hope. House of Hope is a non-profit organization located in Chandigarh – North India. It was created in 2010 to educate children from the local slum community, most of whom come from the lowest Hindu caste and are known as Dalits or Untouchables. These children usually get no education as they have to work instead. The charity also helps widows and provides health assistance to the people living in the slum.
We are so happy to let you know that we managed to collect 2.005 euros through our IT sale, which has now gone to House of Hope. Our colleague Giselle Barreto travelled on her own account to Chandigarh to do volunteer work and met the children and the team of the charity, you can see them together in the pictures below:
